Welcome to Lake Forest Park

Lake Forest Park at a glance

Lake Forest Park is a small town Northeast of Shoreline and Seattle that is true to its namesake - a wooded community adjacent to Lake Washington. LFP is tucked away amongst trees, hills, and winding roads with properties that offer a bit more land and privacy.

Its location near Lake Washington offers easy beach access and two private beach clubs for LFP or Sheridan Beach residents. LFP doesn’t have a traditional downtown but the hub of its city is the LFP Towncenter down by the lake, which is home to city hall, the police station, restaurants, grocery, Third Place Books and the Commons - an indoor community area for the public to dine and hang out.

Although a small, mostly residential town, LFP has its fair share of parks and trails. The residents worked with the city to purchase 5 acres of wooded land and turned it into trails for the community, maintained by the community. The famous Burke-Gilman trail also runs through LFP along the water, ideal for bikers and walkers. The trail spans 20 miles and goes into Seattle, which offers a commuting option for bikers.

Homes in Lake Forest Park were mostly built in the 1950s and up, featuring mid-century modern styles. They are often on larger lots, many are wooded and private with varying terrain. It is not uncommon to see multi-level homes built into the side of a wooded hill in LFP. There is still some undeveloped land in LFP allowing for small new construction developments to go up, often featuring 5 or fewer homes, although zoning restrictions in LFP are very strict for new development.
