The city of Shoreline is located North of Seattle and is situated between the Puget Sound and east to Lake Washington. It is approximately 9 miles from downtown Seattle. Its prime location abutting the Puget Sound and the lake offer many beach opportunities for public use. It is also known for its many natural terrain parks and trails dappled around the city. It is home to 14 neighborhoods and could be considered the quintessential suburb of Seattle. It is located conveniently on I5, the major interstate, and work on the lightrail train for commuting downtown or to the airport is nearly complete (as of 2022).
Shoreline is known for its stunning beaches, trees, growing push for community engagement, and great schools. Shoreline does not have a designated downtown area, but many individual neighborhoods have thriving Neighborhood Associations that offer events, volunteer opportunities and more. Shoreline’s neighborhoods are primarily single-family homes built in the 1950s to 1980s with a mix of one-off newer homes. Zoning has recently allowed for more condominium development near I5 and also along Highway 99.
